Joanne C. Hillhouse is a journalist, educator, and current writer. She belongs to Antigua and Barbuda, where she is very popular for her novels, short stories, poetry, and children’s books. She is very dedicated to publications, and she got her name in the literary hub as one of the “ten female Caribbean authors.” She also achieved the “Wadadli Youth Pen Prize” for her work.
Joanne’s Early Life And Education:
Joanne was born in 1973 in Antigua and Barbuda. She was in a holy family school, “Christ the King High School.” Before getting the mass communication degree from “UNIVERSITY OF THE WEST INDIES,” she did her education at the ANTIGUA STATE COLLEGE.
Professor Marvyn Morris supported Joanne, and she recommended her for fiction writing at the Caribbean Fiction Writing Summer Institute. Finally, Hillhouse got their first chance to write the first novel, and she was successful with this work.

Joanne said that she considers their city “Antigua, where I live and breathe every day and love to write about this as per my experience.”
Moreover, in 2014, her novel, which is related to young adults, was published, and this novel was selected for the finalist Burt Award. Another story that was also famous was written for the young generation and their efforts, “Musical Youth.” This book was awarded and claimed its place in the Caribbean.
